June has started out with a particular sparkling pizzazz. Alpine Group generously sponsored me in the Bayview Place Island Savings Open Pro Am at Uplands Golf Club on Tuesday. This event proudly supports Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island. The amazing charity raises funds to support Island children with disabilities and health challenges.
Upon signing in each player was whisked away to be sized for brand new golf shoes to take home along with a very cool Carson Automotive Group bag filled with an array of goodies including Shaw water bottle, golf ball collective, candy, food vouchers, BC Ferry sea west lounge passes, PGA ball cap, Bayview Place Roundhouse glass, buttons, magazines and more.

Each team was allocated a PGA Tour Star and although my Alpine Group team dynamic had natural skill set, Kevin Vanden Heuvel our golf pro pushed us to the next level. It was apparent from the get go how incredibly talented this golf super star is, he coached us throughout the day with dedication and a keen interest in helping us all improve our golf game, he even showed me what it was like to have a personal caddy wink.. wink. After an amazing day of golf, I quickly transformed back into my Miss Teenage Vancouver Island persona for an incredible banquet dinner followed by awards, auctions and connecting with many generous sponsors of this event.
