On Sunday, April 19th, I participated in the 2nd Annual Daffodil Tea and Fashion Show held at the Inn at Laurel Point. All proceeds from this event went to the Canadian Cancer Society.
I enjoyed an afternoon of sampling tasty chocolate treats from Purdys Chocolatier and sipping on copious amounts of flavourful tea provided by Silk Road Tea. Experts from both these companies gave in depth presentations on the foundational ethical background their companies are built upon
Purdys Chocolatier was very proud to express that their cocoa is from sustainable sources. The cocoa used in their chocolate is purchased only from farmer co-ops that meet the 2 pillars of Purdys sustainable cocoa program.
Silk Road Teas explained that their teas are made with premium quality, fresh and organic botanicals. Tea plants grown organically develop richer, more complex and enjoyable flavours with higher antioxidant levels & superior flavour – no artificial flavours or colours are used; just pure, healthy, deliciousness in every sip!
After much socializing and consumption of pure delight, our amazing hosts for the event Forbes N’ Marshall with Ocean 98.5 led us into the fashion show that my admirable friend Jodi Bryans helped organize.
Cancer survivor models owned the runway wearing a vast selection of fashions for the season. Each model dawning a bright light within them making it apparent they’re blazing into the next phase of their lives.
I met many inspiring people at this event and am thankful to the Canadian Cancer Society for the opportunity to attend.
